The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India's premier central recruiting agency responsible for appointments to and examinations for all-India services and group A & B of central services. This recruitment for the post of Anthropologist is conducted for the Anthropological Survey of India under the Ministry of Culture. The Anthropological Survey of India is the apex Indian government organization involved in anthropological studies and field data research of various tribal and non-tribal communities. An Anthropologist in this role is responsible for conducting intensive field research, documenting cultural or physical traits of Indian populations, and contributing to national-level ethnic reports. The job profile involves extensive travel to remote areas and high-level academic documentation. The selection process primarily involves a shortlisting based on educational qualifications and experience, followed by a personal interview. In some cases, a recruitment test (RT) may be conducted to filter candidates.
