The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization established by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The NTA is mandated to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, which is the most prestigious undergraduate engineering entrance examination in India. JEE Main serves as the gateway for admission to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), and Bachelor of Planning (B.Plan) programs at National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). **Mission and Career Pathway:** Beyond immediate admissions, JEE Main is the essential preliminary qualifying round for JEE Advanced, which leads to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Candidates appearing in the 10+2 (Higher Secondary) exam with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are the primary eligible group. • Payment Method: Online Payment using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI through NTA payment gateway.

• No Age Limit: For appearing in the JEE (Main) 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates.
• Candidates who have passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2024, 2025, or appearing in 2026 are eligible.

• Passed / Appearing 10+2 Intermediate with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths)

Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) Pattern

Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of 90 questions (30 each in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).

• Section A: 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Section B: 10 Numerical Value Questions (Attempt any 5).
• Marking: +4 for Correct, -1 for Incorrect.

Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan)

• Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing (for Arch) or Planning (for Plan).
• Marking remains +4 and -1 for MCQs.

Selection and Counseling

Admissions are conducted through JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) and CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board).

• All India Rank: Based on the best of the session scores.
• 75% Criteria: Candidates must secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile.
