Brief Information
The India Government Mint (IGM), operating under the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), is a prestigious Miniratna Category-I CPSE wholly owned by the Government of India. This recruitment board is responsible for the manufacture of legal tender coins, medals, and tokens, playing a vital role in the nation's economy and sovereignty. The IGM units located in Mumbai, Noida, Kolkata, and Hyderabad have collectively announced 94 vacancies for 2026 to strengthen their technical and administrative workforce.
The job profiles offered in this recruitment are diverse and technically demanding. Supervisor roles (Assay, Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy) involve overseeing production lines and ensuring high-quality standards in minting processes. Junior Technicians (Fitter, Turner, Electrician, etc.) are the backbone of the workshop, handling the operation and maintenance of sophisticated machinery. Administrative roles like Junior Office Assistant and Junior Bullion Assistant support the organizational logistics and financial record-keeping. The importance of this recruitment cannot be overstated, as working with IGM offers a rare opportunity to serve in a high-security government establishment that directly contributes to India's financial infrastructure.
The selection process is designed to identify the most skilled candidates through a Computer Based Test (CBT) that evaluates both general aptitude and core technical knowledge. For office-based roles, a typing skill test is mandatory. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for ITI and Diploma holders in India looking for a stable, high-paying career with the Central Government, featuring excellent pay scales and long-term career growth within the SPMCIL framework.
