BPSSC Range Officer Selection Process & Exam Pattern

1. Written Examination

The written exam consists of two papers: General Hindi and General Studies.

  • Paper I (General Hindi): 100 Questions | 200 Marks | 2 Hours (Qualifying only).
  • Paper II (General Studies): 100 Questions | 300 Marks | 2 Hours (Basis for Merit).
  • Negative Marking: 0.2 marks deducted for each wrong answer.

2. Physical Standard Test (PST)

  • Height (Male): 163 cms (General/OBC), 152.5 cms (ST).
  • Height (Female): 150 cms (General/OBC), 145 cms (ST).
  • Chest (Male): 79 cms + 5 cms expansion.
  • Walking Test: 25 Km in 4 Hours (Male) | 14 Km in 4 Hours (Female).

Interview and Final Merit List

Candidates who qualify the Written Exam and Physical Test are called for the Personality Test (Interview) which carries 50 marks. The final merit list is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Written Exam (Paper II) and the Interview.
